Common Questions
Quick answers to help you get the most out of Subs
How does the 90-day free trial work?
Your free trial starts immediately when you verify your email. You get full access to all features for 90 days. No credit card required to start. You'll get gentle reminders as your trial approaches its end, and you can purchase lifetime access if you want to continue using Subs.
What happens if I don't enter the cost of a subscription?
That's totally fine! The cost field is optional. You'll still get all the reminder functionality and can track renewal dates. You can always add costs later if you want to see spending totals. Many users prefer to just track renewal dates without worrying about exact costs.
Can I track subscriptions that bill at weird intervals?
Yes! Subs supports weekly, fortnightly (every 2 weeks), every four weeks, monthly, quarterly, and yearly billing cycles. We also distinguish between "monthly" (same date each month) and "every four weeks" (exactly 28 days) since some services use different approaches.
Will I get overwhelmed with emails?
No! This is specifically designed for ADHD minds. You get maximum one email per day, sent at 8 AM in your timezone. All reminders for that day are combined into a single, clean email. You can also choose from three email preference levels or pause emails entirely if you need a break.
What's the difference between "rolling" and "fixed" subscription terms?
Rolling subscriptions can be cancelled anytime and renew automatically until you cancel (like Netflix). Fixed-term subscriptions are contracts for a specific period (like a 2-year phone contract) that may have early cancellation fees. Choose "rolling" for most streaming services and apps, "fixed" for contracts.
Can I use Subs for free trials I haven't signed up for yet?
Absolutely! You can add future subscriptions to track when you want to sign up for trials. Set the start date to when you plan to start the trial, and Subs will remind you about the expiration dates so you don't forget to cancel if you don't want to continue.
What if I have subscriptions in different currencies?
No problem! You can enter subscriptions in any currency (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.). Your dashboard will automatically group them by currency and show separate totals for each. This is especially helpful for people who travel frequently or use international services.
How do I cancel or delete a subscription?
Click on any subscription in your dashboard to edit it, then use the "Delete" button. This removes it from Subs - but remember, you'll still need to cancel the actual subscription with the service provider to stop being charged! Subs is for tracking, not cancelling the actual services.
Is my data secure?
Yes! We only store the subscription information you enter (service names, dates, costs). We don't store payment details, passwords, or any sensitive financial information. All data is encrypted and your account is protected with Auth0 authentication.
